As a nonprofit, we rely solely on the generous support of our community and the diligent work of volunteers. If you have a passion for animals and would like to join our volunteer team, please complete our volunteer application to help us match you with the right volunteer position.
Over 55 with a low income and seeking employment? PCHS has a partnership with the Senior Community Services Employment Program (SCSEP) that might help you and help the pets of PCHS also!

​Older workers who qualify can be assigned to do their paid training up to 20 hours a week at Polk County Humane Society.

The training assignment includes general housekeeping and/or computer work at Polk County Humane Society in Bolivar, MO.
